4media group conducted a broadcast day with the Photobox to help them promote their new photobook ‘Crown in the Crowd’. The book features over 2000 images unseen photographs of the Royal Family submitted by the public dating back to Queen Victoria in the 1890’s and included candid shots of Princess Diana and Prince Harry and Meghan.

The Crown from the Crowd will be presented to Prince Harry & Meghan as a ‘gift from the people’ ahead of their wedding day.

The broadcast day was fronted by Renowned royal expert Jennie Bond, who served as the BBC’s Royal Correspondent during 14 of the most turbulent years for the monarchy and best-selling author and TV historian Dominic Sandbrook

Jennie Bond and Dominic Sandbrook, issued a national call-to-action for people across the UK to raid their attics and albums for any unseen retro-royal photos taken at any one of the estimated 50,000 royal engagements since the Second World War.

The public response was overwhelming with over 2000 images submitted dating back to pictures of Queen Victoria taken in the 1890’s, Princess Diana in her heyday and more recent ones of the Princes.

The book features 8 chapters ranging from Country Life to Pomp & Ceremony, each with a fascinating introduction by Dominic.

The campaign was a huge success with a full day of broadcast interviews. The broadcast day featured 57 interviews, including 50 BBC Radios including The Georgie Spanswick syndicate network, BBC Cambridge, BBC Newcastle, BBC West Midlands, BBC York and more! View the full campaign coverage here.
