4media group were approached by Tourism Western Australia to organise a broadcast day to help them promote Western Australia as a location for travel and holidaying. In order to do so we tied to campaign to the launch of Ben Elton’s new film: Three Summers, which is set in Western Australia.

After spending much of his youth working on the iconic British comedies The Young Ones and Blackadder, Ben Elton moved to Western Australia in 2004 and it was here that became the backdrop for his latest feature film Three Summers. Ben’s knowledge and love for Western Australia made him the perfect spokesperson for the campaign and helped achieve the aims of the client.

The picturesque setting presented itself as an ideal canvas for cinematic storytelling. Fusing romance, music and Ben Elton’s trademark wit and satirical edge, the film delivers an engaging folk tale of contemporary Australia. The film will be showcased at the Edinburgh Film Festival and screened in London on 27th June with plans for the film to be shown on BBC television later this year.

The coverage for this campaign was outstanding, with 63 broadcast interviews secured. The broadcast day highlights included Sky News Sunrise, BBC Radio 4 and Magic Radio, along with 15 further BBC radio stations, LBC, Talk Radio and more.  You can view the full coveragebook here.
