Challenge:

To mark Coeliac UK Awareness Week, Warburtons wanted to research Britts’ knowledge about coeliac disease and the plight of its sufferers, and to break the stigma surrounding the disease and push for more awareness of coeliac disease symptoms.

Solution

Centred on its ‘Free From’ range and joining forces with the charity Coeliac UK, our in-house research division revealed that 71% of people with coeliac disease think that people avoid inviting them round for dinner because they are unsure how to cater for their dietary requirement. And they have a right to feel concerned as 34% of Brits admitted they would be reluctant to invite someone with a food allergy or intolerance round for dinner for this very reason.

Outcome

Fronted by Chief Executive Sarah Sleet from Coeliac UK and Free From Director Chris Hook from Warburtons, our broadcast day secured a total of 13 items of broadcast coverage, totalling 98 minutes of airtime and a reach of 7 million.
